Device Compatibility
Before purchasing an eSIM from eSIMBox, please verify that your device meets the requirements below. Using an incompatible or carrier-locked device is the most common reason for eSIM activation failure.
If you are unsure whether your device is compatible, please contact our support team before placing your order.
General Requirements
To use an eSIM from eSIMBox, your device must meet all three of the following conditions:
- ✅ eSIM-enabled: Your device must have built-in eSIM hardware and software support
- ✅ Carrier-unlocked: Your device must not be locked to a specific mobile network operator
- ✅ Network band compatible: Your device must support the frequency bands used in your destination country
Note: Even if your device model supports eSIM, it may be carrier-locked if purchased through a specific carrier. Please check with your carrier or device manufacturer to confirm your device is unlocked.
How to Check If Your Device Supports eSIM
iPhone (iOS)
Go to Settings > General > About and scroll down. If you see an "Available SIM" or "EID" number listed, your device supports eSIM.
Android
Go to Settings > About Phone > SIM Status or Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs. If you see an option to "Add eSIM" or "Download a SIM", your device supports eSIM.
Check Your EID Number
The EID (Embedded Identity Document) is a unique 32-digit number that identifies your device’s eSIM chip. If your device has an EID, it supports eSIM. You can find it in Settings > About Phone, or by dialing *#06# on most Android devices.

Carrier Lock Check
To check if your device is carrier-locked:
- iPhone: Go to Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions", your device is unlocked.
- Android: Insert a SIM card from a different carrier. If it works, your device is unlocked. Alternatively, contact your carrier to confirm.
If your device is carrier-locked, you will need to contact your carrier to request an unlock before using an eSIMBox plan.
